Hey everyone, this is my last blog of the year so I would like to thank ya’ll for reading them and hope that you had some laughs along the way.
This weekend was my big trip to Boston and New York City. It was a long drive but at the end of the day, it was worth it. Boston is a beautiful, historic city with a lot of things to do. We ended up going to 2 Jays games, (didn’t turn out the way we wanted it too) and the Montreal/Boston game. All three were great experiences and being at Fenway Park was incredible. I actually got a sunburn on Sunday while we were there (and now theres a snow storm in Sudbury…) After Boston, we travelled to NYC, where at one moment Scott and I both looked up and realized that we were driving in Times Square. I wouldn’t recommend this to anyone because some of those drivers are crazy, and don’t get me started about the Cabbies. I almost pulled a Pat Kane.
After NYC, we began the drive back to Sudbury. We left New York at 5 a.m. and got here around 6 p.m. Long day of travelling but it was totally worth it.
Today is Wednesday, and it is my last full day here. I am leaving for home tomorrow and to be honest, I have mixed feelings about this. Being away at school and living in REZ has been one of the best experiences that I’ve ever had. Meeting a bunch of people who are super nice, hilarious, and overall beauties, has made me cherish the friendships I’ve made. But I also have to think about the amazing friends I have at home and how nice it will be to see them.
Second year has flown by and I think it’s because that quote “time flies when you’re having fun”. I know that is corny but all of us can think about a time when something didn’t last as long as you thought it would. This year has been super awesome and I think it’s because of the people I spent it with. This makes me think of one of my teachers from high school who every Friday said, “Be careful how you spend your time, and who you spend it with”. Remember those words for the rest of your life. Put yourself in a position where you can have fun with the people around you and make sure that you’re safe. I know I’m kind of being motivational, but it’s true. Especially when your away at school. I am lucky enough to have a lot of people who I know that if I am to fall, they will pick me up. Most of these people will probably end up reading my blog.
So for all the readers, I want you to remember this: University is an experience. You learn both inside the classroom, as well as outside. It is a time to discover more about yourself, and become individually stronger. Seize this opportunity, and make the most of it.
Here are some final shout-outs, my 11th floor Vikings,Great year!….. Jackie for being my blogs #1 fan hahaha….and Team Extreme (you know who you are) There are a bunch of others but sadly blogs aren’t novels.
