Exams are winding down and I’m looking forward to my amazing experience in Europe coming up in just a little over a week. I’m really excited but just as nervous – I’ve never been away from my family for a long period of time and I’ve always been a nervous flyer! It helps that one of my good buddies will be attending the conference with me, and since I’ve already been to Turkey last year I know travelling something that I can do and is well worth it!
I guess that’s my first take home message for you guys; you need to step out of your comfort zone and try new things no matter how scary it is (as long as its safe!)
Secondly, I guess now is that time to announce that in the past year at Laurentian University I have figured out that – although Psychology is way cool and interesting – it isn’t the right path for me. But something I learned a few weeks ago is that 80% of students change their mind, and not all is lost! My credits will STILL transfer and I can still graduate in time even when Im completley switching majors!
Take-home message #2: Its OKAY to change your mind dudes! Change it and change it again its part of how you grow. A year in the wrong program is not a wasted year; I still learned alot of cool things and if I ever get recruited for cash cab and the cab driver asks me what a Neuron is and the function of a NeuroTransmitter is; I will win money!
I hope you all have super cool summer plans, I’ll be blogging through LU throughout my journey in Germany at International Student Week so make sure to check it out!
